Casinos will be created in certain towns of Calvados. The reason for these projects is that the city of Bayeux and the intercom want to become a tourist resort. The creation of a casino in Bayeux seems impractical for the moment, but elected officials are already working on it and do not intend to drop the matter. A procedure has already been initiated in this direction so that the project can materialize.
Become a “tourist resort”
The project has been running for years now. The surrounding municipalities with Bayeux want to become a tourist resort. They then established steps to accomplish this immense project. The municipalities will be put into play, and they will set up casinos there. They find that this project will be beneficial and will offer many advantages, in particular for Bayeux.
The latter will be able to obtain the state allocation revised upwards (the DGF, global operating allocation) when the tourist population is in its demographic accounts. Even if at the beginning the project seemed impractical, the city has already imagined for years the realization of it in these municipalities.
The inter-municipal structure had completed the construction procedures 5 years ago. First of all obtaining the tourist resort label, then that of the first category tourist office. Then according to Loïc Jamin after classification of tourist resorts, there will be fifth stage. He did not give more details on this subject.
During the exhibition of these ideas, words like: ” If the law is favorable, one could imagine the reception of an establishment of the type of a casino ” were evoked. The vice-president in charge of tourism then responded to this comment that lawyers were already working on this possibility.
File number 6 was put to a vote.
The municipalities of the intercom have filed a request for classification as a tourist resort. The president of the intercommunal tourist office asked to classify the request for classification in the first category to help speed things up. He explained that it was the subject of a three-star classification until April 2016. A deliberation then took place Thursday evening for a place in the first category.
File number 6 was therefore submitted during the vote. It is the file concerning Bayeux which was between the swimming pool project and the pooling of services. He will then join Deauville, Cabourg, Trouville, Saint -Aubin, Houlgate, Ouistreham or Villers-sur-Mer…, which are already part of the classification of the municipalities of Calvados.
The other municipalities were not satisfied with this result and asked for an explanation of this deliberation from elected officials who were perplexed. Loïc Jamin then had to enumerate the company approaches on this project for several years. He then went so far as to search the archives to confirm it.
The Bayeux casino file has been opened
After listing the business initiatives, Loïc Jamin confirmed that the classification of Bayeux and Port-en-Bessin in tourist municipalities dates back 5 years, in July 2011, but that it was only the first step . The steps for the construction of a casino in Bayeux have been established for five years.
The place is not yet determined, the elected officials still hesitate between Port-en-Bessin and Arromanches. They are hesitant about the coastline like other casinos in the region. But the project has already started.
